LBI’s Best Happy Hour Deals

cheers

We are big big big fans of drink specials that allow us to set our clocks to island time, and LBI has no shortage of happy hour deals up and down the island. Happy hour is the perfect way to try out some new spots without breaking the bank. Get all the vibes and views of the most expensive and delicious restaurants without the commitment of sitting down for an entire dinner.

The perfect happy hour has it all — beer and wine specials, a discounted specialty cocktail and cheap appetizers so we can order one of everything. On LBI you’ll also find lots of amazing specials on oysters and clams during happy hour so you can ball on a budget. Whether you’re looking for some ice cold beer and wings or some pinot and oysters on the half shell, you’ll find all of that and more on LBI.

Here’s where we end up for our favorite happy hours on Long Beach Island.

Terrace Tavern

If you’re searching for seafood Monday to Friday from 3-6pm, your search can begin and end with Terrace Tavern. Clams, oysters and U-peel shrimp are all “buck-a-shuck” ($6 per half dozen). We recommend the Double Devils, which is a hot take on deviled eggs but with succulent crab meat. Domestic drafts are just $3 and house wines are $5 a glass. Terrace Tavern’s new tented area “The Backyard,” is the perfect fairy-lit venue to meet up with friends to enjoy some luscious libations and good times. It’s the perfect post-beach meet up spot.

Northside Bar & Grille

We love the happy hour food and drink specials at Northside Bar & Grille, and the rotating live music schedule keeps us coming back for more! Pop over to Northside for the tail-end of their 3-6pm happy hour specials on a Wednesday or Thursday to catch the live music act of the night just setting up. Order a $3 house wine or $3 Miller or Yuengling, some wings and you’re ready for a great night of relaxing under the tent with the live music bumping. It’s the perfect way to kick off your night with friends.

The Arlington

The Arlington’s menu is all about fresh and local ingredients and amazing craft beers that you won’t find anywhere else on the island. If you’re not ready to commit to a sit down dinner here, happy hour at the bar will absolutely convince you otherwise. It’s the perfect way to sample some beers and peek at the amazing dinners that come out of the kitchen. On weekdays from 4-6pm, The Arlington has happy hour specials that consist of local craft beers, house wines, well drinks and LBI staples like oysters on the half shell and wings. Don’t expect to get basic buffalo wings here, though. Instead, you’ll be presented with wings smothered in blackened dry rub seasoning and a crazy secret butter that makes this chicken insanely good.

Black Whale

Our list of the best happy hours on LBI wouldn’t be complete without the Black Whale. While the bar itself here is small (get here early to make sure you can snag a seat), it packs a punch with one of the best happy hours on Long Beach Island. We like to sip on $4 Narragansett Lagers from 3-6pm, but there are specials for every taste and mood including $3 Miller and Yuengling drafts, $4 house wines and well drinks and amazing food specials. While the food menu here leans very heavily on the seafood side with buck a shuck oysters (our favorite), crab cake sliders and fish tacos, you’ll also find classic wings for your non-seafood eating buddies.
