Candy gives us such a sense of nostalgia. We all have fond memories of our favorite candy stores growing up, especially by the beach. It was always so magical to marvel at the selection of chocolate-covered delights and playfully colored taffy. It was even better when you got to rip open the packaging and sample the goods.

Whether or not you outgrew your sweet tooth, you’ll appreciate these LBI candy stores that have been around for generations and are all island staples. Find fudge just like you had as a kid! Share with your family or friends! Live a little! There’s also plenty of traditional candy like chocolate-covered pretzels, turtles, and bark. See below for our list of candy shops on LBI to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Lucille's

Lucille's is a 4th generation candy store and they are a big big big deal. With more than 90 years in business, they know how to make, debatably, the perfect sweet. Lucille’s operate Lucille’s Make Your Own Candies on route 72 before you get on (or leave) the island, as well as Oh Fudge in Beach Haven proper. Both stores have an assortment of different candies, including fan-favorites almond butter crunch, creamy fudge and saltwater taffy, as well as all your usual suspects.

Country Kettle Fudge

Known for its fresh and creamy texture, Country Kettle Fudge is your premium destination for fudge on the island in Beach Haven. As you enter, you will notice trays piled high with fudge in the back… now that’s our kind of place. Sample classics like chocolate and vanilla or expand your horizons with flavors like cookie dough, maple bacon, and rocky road. A visit to Country Kettle Fudge will allow everyone to find something tasty to enjoy. Fresh, creamy handwhipped fudge made in a copper kettle… what could be finer?

Stutz Candy Company

Stutz Candy Company has been open since 1938 and is an absolute institution for those with a sweet tooth. I mean, it has floor-to-ceiling walls of chocolate filled with truffles, toffee, nougat, peanut butter cups, and chocolate covered goodies. What more could you ask for? If you aren't a chocolate person, they also sell saltwater taffy and fudge. Stutz also has online ordering so you can get it delivered to your home when you're not in the LBI area.

Sugar Planet

Sugar Planet is a bright, playful sweet shop that’s quickly become a local favorite. They carry a wide variety of fudge, hand‑crafted chocolates, bulk candies, freeze‑dried sweets, novelty sodas, and even ice cream. Guests rave about the seasonal specials and the friendly staff that makes browsing a breeze. A perfect stop for families or anyone craving something nostalgic and vibrant.

Candy Store on Schooner’s Wharf

This Viking Village gem is beloved for its nostalgic charm and iconic treats like homemade elephant ears, oversized lollipops, saltwater taffy, and fudge. Ideal for grabbing a quick sugar fix while strolling the boardwalk, it’s the kind of place that smells irresistible from blocks away.

A visit to one of LBI’s candy shops is like stepping back in time, when summer meant sunburns, flip flops, and sugar highs. Whether you’re grabbing a few pieces of fudge for the beach, filling a bag of taffy to share with family, or picking out a chocolate turtle just for yourself, these iconic spots are part of what makes Long Beach Island feel like home.
